2010 Hare & Hound Events

For the 2010 season we plan to organise 8 events for solo Adult riders in a championship format with the best 7 results from 8 events counting towards the overall championship and NEW for 2010 is a YOUTH series which will be 4 events with all 4 results to count to the overall.

  1. CLUB MEMBERS ONLY for 2010. No non-member entries, if you want to ride you must join the club. This benefits club members and speeds up signing on.
  2. RECEIVE ENTRY FORMS BY EMAIL – for 2010 will be sending entry forms by email speeding up the time in getting your entry forms and saving paper used as well as being environmentally friendly. You can receive entry forms by post if requested on membership form or join the mailing list online
  3. LIVE LAPSCORING – so you will be able to view your position during the race.
  4. Adult Riding Groups - Rider group numbers will have block group numbering as follows: Expert riding numbers from 1 to 49, Veteran Expert will be numbers 50 to 99, Clubman 2T numbers 100 to 199, Clubman 4T numbers 200 to 299, Veteran numbers 300 to 399, Sportsman 2T numbers 400 to 499 and Sportsman 4T numbers 500 to 599.
  5. Adult start order will be Expert followed by Veteran Expert then Clubman 2T, Clubman 4T, Veteran, Sportsman 2T and finally Sportsman 4T. All with one minute intervals between each group and dead engine start.
  6. Youth Riding Groups - Rider group numbers will have block group numbering as follows: Group 1 riding numbers 1-99 age 14-16 bike size 125cc 2-T or 250cc 4-T, Group 2 age 12-14 bike size 85cc 2-T or 150cc 4-T B/W, Group 3 age 9-12 bike size 85cc 2-T S/W, Group 4 age 6-9 65cc 2-T or 100cc 4-T. Please note these are maximum engine sizes, you can use smaller.
  7. Youth start order will be Group 1 followed by Group 2, Group 3 and Group 4 with one minute intervals and dead engine start.
  8. Race Day Time Table:
    • 8.30 – 10.30am Adult signing on & scrutineering
    • 11am Adult race start
    • 2pm Adult race finish
    • 1pm – 2.30pm Youth signing on & scrutineering
    • 3pm Youth race start, duration 1 ½ hours, finish 4.30pm
  9. Wrist band/lap scoring tag will now be issued to the rider when he joins the club at a one off cost of £10 and will keep this wristband/lap scoring tag to use at all Midwest MCC events so long as they are a club member. If you loose the wristband/lap scoring tag we will issue you with another one at a cost of £10. If you forget to bring the wristband/lap scoring tag to the meeting we can hire you one for the day only at a cost of £5. You must return the loan wristband/lap scoring tag at the end of the meeting. The wristband/lap scoring tag will have your riding number clearly marked on it. You must bring your wristband/lap scoring tag to each race and worn on the right wrist. The wristband/lap scoring can be washed with your riding kit. Keep away from any magnetic sources ie: microwave oven
  10. Adult Grading System - Riders finishing in the top 6 overall in there group will automatically be up-graded to a group of a more difficult ability. The grading will happen as follows: Top 6 Expert remain in the expert group although any expert rider over the age of 40 will be allowed to change to the Veteran Experts. Top 6 Clubman 2T & 4T will be up-graded to the Expert group or if they are age 40 or over they can ride in the Veteran Experts. Top 6 Sportsman 2T & 4T will be up-graded to the Clubman 2T & 4T respectively or if they are age 40 or over they can ride in the Veterans. Top 6 Veterans will be up-graded to the Veteran Expert group.
  11. Rider only to be in the refuelling/work area. Engine must be switched off whilst refuelling. No other person to be in the refuelling/work area. No help from anyone leaning into work area. Youth riders will be allowed 1 adult minimum age 18 with a high visibility vest to help re fuel.
  12. Sighting lap will be a visual inspection of the course on foot available from 9am the day before and up to 1 hour prior to the start. We recommend all riders do walk the course.
  13. MAXIMUM NOISE 94 dBA – No standard MX silencers allowed. Motorcycles must use standard enduro silencer or aftermarket quiet silencers such as FMF Q pipe or DB Dawg insert. Testing will be carried out. If you bring any bike with an MX silencer to scrutineering we will not pass it until you fit a quiet insert.
  14. COURSE CUTTING – Riders who are seen course cutting by an official will be penalised by having one lap removed from there results. A second offence in the same season as a first offence will result in disqualification from the race. We have electronic timing system which has a built in cheat check.
  15. RIDER BEHAVIOUR - Abuse from either driver, supporters, parents or guardians to any officials ( including signing on ladies ) will not be tolerated and will lead to exclusion from the event with the matter being reported to ORPA for further action. The events are run to be enjoyable for everyone involved and riders will be expected to behave in a sportsmanlike manner at all times.
  16. Riders must remain in the group they registered for, if they want to move then they will loose all accumulated championship points to date. You must finish the race with engine running to obtain points. DNF’s will not receive points.
  17. Adult Prize fund will be awarded to the top 6 riders overall in each group at the end of the championship season details as follows: All groups 1st £150 2nd £100 3rd £80 4th £65 5th £55 6th £50. Expert prize fund will be cash and all other groups will be product prize vouchers to buy goods to the value of the awarded prize fund amount. They will also receive trophies.
  18. Youth Prize fund will be awarded to the top 6 riders overall in each group at the end of the championship season details as follows: All groups groups 1st £100 2nd £70 3rd £55 4th £30 5th £25 6th £20. All groups will be product prize vouchers to buy goods to the value of the awarded prize fund amount. They will also receive trophies.
  19. Riding numbers must be shown on all sides of the motorcycle ie: front and left and right panels.
  20. Programme advertising will be available at a rate of £200 per full page, £100 half page or £50 per quarter page plus VAT per year. Please call 01225 791179 for details.
  21. 10% Discount Card – Club membership entitles the rider to a 10% discount off selected products from Midwest racing Ltd. Discount does not apply to any special offers, new or used bikes, special orders or genuine parts.

    • ADULT & YOUTH - April 18th
    • ADULT & YOUTH - May 23rd
    • ADULT & YOUTH - July 25th
    • ADULT & YOUTH - September 19th
    • ADULT ONLY - October 24th
    • ADULT ONLY - November 28th

Please complete and return ASAP as this will allow you to choose your riding/membership number for the 2010 season. This is done on a first come first served basis, so the sooner you return the form, the more chance your have of obtaining your preferred riding number.
