We have a massive £7,000 prize fund, with thanks to our sponsors, for the championship series. We have also located several new venues for 2008 making the forth coming season a very exciting year ahead.
With the 2008 events being a championship series we have had to make some new rule changes as follows:
1. New Riding Group - A new rider group will be
introduced called the Veteran Expert which is for riders over the age of 40
with an expert riding ability. Rider group numbers will now have block group
numbering as follows: Expert riding numbers will now be from 1 to 49, Veteran
Expert will be numbers 50 to 99, Clubman 2T numbers 100 to 199, Clubman 4T
numbers 200 to 299, Veteran numbers 300 to 399, Sportsman 2T numbers 400 to
499 and Sportsman 4T numbers 500 to 599.
2. A new start order for 2008 will be Expert followed by Veteran Expert then
Clubman 2T, Clubman 4T, Veteran, Sportsman 2T and finally Sportsman 4T. All
with one minute intervals between each group and dead engine start.
3. Wrist band/lap scoring tag will now be issued to the rider when he joins
the club at a one off cost of £10 and will keep this wristband/lap scoring
tag to use at all Midwest MCC events so long as they are a club member. If
you lose the wristband/lap scoring tag we will issue you with another one
at a cost of £10. If you forget to bring the wristband/lap scoring tag
to the meeting we can hire you one for the day only at a cost of £5.
You must return the loan wristband/lap scoring tag at the end of the meeting.
The wristband/lap scoring tag will have your name & riding number clearly
marked on it. You must bring your wristband/lap scoring tag to each race and
worn on the right wrist. The wristband/lap scoring can be washed with your
riding kit. Keep away from any magnetic sources ie: microwave oven
4. Grading System - Riders finishing in the top 6 overall in their group will
automatically be up-graded to a group of a more difficult ability. This will
happen at the end of each championship season. The grading will happen as
follows: Top 6 Expert remain in the expert group although any expert rider
over the age of 40 will be allowed to change to the Veteran Experts. Top 6
Clubman 2T & 4T will be up-graded to the Expert group or if they are age
40 or over they can ride in the Veteran Experts. Top 6 Sportsman 2T &
4T will be up-graded to the Clubman 2T & 4T respectively or if they are
age 40 or over they can ride in the Veterans. Top 6 Veterans will be up-graded
to the Veteran Expert group.
5. Rider only to be in the refuelling/work area. Engine must be switched off
whilst refuelling. No other person to be in the refuelling/work area. No help
from anyone leaning into work area.
6. Sighting lap will be a visual inspection of the course on foot available
from 9am the day before and up to 1 hour prior to the start. We recommend
all riders do walk the course.
7. MAXIMUM NOISE 94 dBA - No standard MX silencers allowed. Motorcycles must
use standard enduro silencer or aftermarket quiet silencers such as FMF Q
pipe or DB Dawg insert. Testing will be carried out. If you bring any bike
with an MX silencer to scrutineering we will not pass it until you fit a quiet
insert.
8. COURSE CUTTING - Riders who are seen course cutting by an official will
be penalised by having one lap removed from their results. Any further offences
in the same season will result in disqualification from the race. We have
electronic timing system which has a built in cheat check.
9. RIDER BEHAVIOUR - Abuse from either driver or supporters to any officials
will not be tolerated and will lead to exclusion from the event with the matter
being reported to ORPA for further action. The events are run to be enjoyable
for everyone involved and riders will be expected to behave in a sportsmanlike
manner at all times.
10. Riders must remain in the group they registered for, if they want to move
then they will lose all accumulated championship points to date. Non-members
will not receive championship points. You must finish the race with engine
running to obtain points. DNF's will not receive points.
